Welcome to South Coast Shotokan Karate - a registered Dojo of Shotokan Karate International Australia a not-for-profit organisation directly afilited with the Shotokan Karate International Federation. 

At our dojo (place where the path or way is pursued), we teach a range of karate and fitness elements and sport karate. However, the karate we teach is so much more than just a sport. 

The karate we teach recognises that karate is budo and that sport karate is just a part of the budo training we practice. We retain traditional rituals of karate etiquette including respect, reciting (and delving deeper into) the dojo rules, sincerity, courtesy and so on but, also integrate elements of contemporary physical exercise science in our practice of karate-do (way of the empty hand).

Our dojo inspires people towards mastery of this beautiful and alluring martial art. It is also a pathway to self-learning where we help your dreams become reality and support students to reach their full potential.
